How To Lose Weight Fast

http://veryveganrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/lose-weight-fast-diet-vegan-1024x535.png

Every year before bikini season women want to know how to lose weight fast. I always try to think of safety and health first when it comes to the issue of weight loss. Naturally I think it goes without saying that vegans have a leg up on everyone else when trying to lose weight. It’s been shown in numerous studies that most people just lose weight without even trying when they go vegan. Of course replacing high fat animal products with fruits and vegetables only makes sense.

Ways to lose weight fast

There are many ways to lose weight fast but not many of them are safe. Every day I see ads for all of these pills and products out there and I just cringe. I’d say most of these people are already unhealthy, they are eating dangerous food and now you want them to add dangerous chemicals to the mix. That seems like a weight loss recipe for disaster. With some careful planning and keeping it vegan there is a way you can safely drop weight quickly though. For most people this can be done without exercise or without much anyway. But I must tell you that it’s still very important to move your body!

how to lose weight

How to lose weight fast for women

It is actually harder for women to lose weight than men. The main reason is that men have more muscle mass than women. Muscle burns more fat and this gives men the edge. This is one reason I think all women should have weight lifting in their daily workout routines. You can increase your muscle mass and still look feminine. And the added muscle will help you keep your weight down naturally. Losing weight with exercise is definitely much easier for women. So don’t avoid it. Embrace it and your body will thank you for it!

lose weight fast for women and men

How to lose weight fast for men

As mentioned above, it’s a little easier for men to lose weight than it is for women. Beyond that initial advantage though the process is mostly the same. Eating high carb low fat food is key. This will keep your energy up, your metabolism high and your weight down. If course men should also exercise and lift weights as well if they are serious about having the best body possible. But a lot of fast weight loss can be achieved without exercise in the short term. You can’t exercise to lose weight fast but you can see the benefits long term. In the short term your diet plays the largest role in weight loss or weight gain.

How to lose weight fast in a week

There are many reasons someone would want to lose weight in a week. It could be a trip to the beach, a first date, or even a wedding. I think it’s perfectly fine to have a short term weight loss goal if you do it safely. But the best plan is to think long term. Anytime someone asks me about losing weight quickly I always tell them they can but they should also be looking at the long term. If you can do this then next bikini season you won’t be looking for a short term fix to the weight loss problem.

I have put together a one week weight loss plan that I think is safe and effective. You can get it on the next page.

How To Lose Weight Fast

Before you even think about trying this or any weight loss plan you need to consult your doctor. I believe in that so strongly I am going to tell you right now: DO NOT DO THIS WITHOUT YOUR DOCTORS APPROVAL. I am not your doctor. I don’t know anything about your health or requirement. My plan assumes everything with you is normal and you are healthy enough to attempt weight loss.

For the first two days you will be going on a low calorie fruit island. It has nearly the same effect as a water fast but it’s easier to do and much more delicious! I recommend watermelon but you could try grapefruit, peaches or strawberries. Whatever you pick you need to do it for 2 days.

Day One

Eat nothing but a low calorie fruit. My favorite is watermelon because it is delicious and high in water. So you will not be getting many calories but you will be getting plenty of water and nutrients.

Day Two

Another day of fruit island. Same fruit as day one. Nothing else except water.

Day Three

You will do fruit for breakfast and lunch and a huge salad for dinner. Below are the things you can put in your salad. And the only acceptable salad dressings. You will have to make these salad dressings so be prepared to do this in advance. NO STORE BOUGHT DRESSINGS. Only those listed below.

Salad ingredients

asparagus

broccoli

Brussels sprouts

cabbage

lettuce

beets

cauliflower

mushrooms

turnips

Zucchini

Spinach

kale

peppers

onions

radishes

celery

tomatoes

Dressings (you will have to make them)

Balsamic
Balsamic Vinaigrette
Citrus Herb
Citrus Vinaigrette
Ginger Orange
Mango Orange
Tomato Herb

Day Four

Same as day three.

Day Five

Fruit only for breakfast.

Small amount of fruit followed by salad for lunch

Small amount of fruit followed by salad for dinner

Day six

Same as day five.

Day Seven

Fruit Island. Only one fruit, all day. Nothing else but water. Just like day one and two.

Notes: You can eat unlimited fruit for breakfast on the days that aren’t fruit islands. And you can eat unlimited salad for dinner (or lunch and dinner depending on the day) but it must only contain ingredients from the list. And you can always drink water. DO NOT add salt to your fruit or salad. No salt. Ever.

After your 7 days you should have dropped some weight. The best eating plan to transition into after the 7 days is “raw til 4″ in my opinion. Either way, you should never do this diet for more than 7 days. You need to get back to eating a wide variety of fruits and vegetables on a daily basis for health.

Top 10 Healthiest Foods Ever

http://veryveganrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/healthiest-foods-1024x535.png

Why is it important to eat the healthiest foods? Studies continue to show that the highest causes of death are food related. We really do have the ability to control our own destiny in terms of our health. We do this by making the right choices when we eat.

Health and Food

According to the statistics from the World Health Organization, the leading cause of death in the world is ischemic heart disease followed by other cardiovascular diseases such as stroke, hypertension and others wherein an estimated 7 million individuals die per year. This contrasts to road injuries and other related accidents wherein over 1 million individuals die per year.

From the statistics, it can be seen that the top causes of mortality can be prevented by eating the right kind of food as well as integrating physical activities into daily routine. What is considered as the right kind of food?

What are the healthiest foods

Recently, TIME Magazine posted findings of the scientific community that ranks 50 of the healthiest foods that can highly benefit us. 42 of their top 50 foods are vegan! While most of the world might be surprised by this, its not a surprise to vegans.  From the research of Dr. Caldwell, Dr. Esselstyn, Dr. Fuhrman and others it has been shown conclusively that a plant based diet can not only help prevent disease, it can also reverse disease!

Of the 50 healthiest foods of all time listed by TIME Magazine the entire top 10 were vegan. In fact the top 24 were vegan. And only 8 of their list of 50 were not vegan. Of course we know those 8 shouldn’t be on the list at all. But how powerful a message this is to the average person out there considering their diet. What are the top 10 healthiest foods ever? Get them on the next page!

Ripe-Banana1. We have heard that athletes eat banana in-between their games because it provides them a boost of energy. However, that is not all there is to banana. Whenever you feel down, rather than eating chocolate, you should eat bananas. Bananas are rich in tryptophan and once tryptophan enters the body, it undergoes several chemical changes until it becomes serotonin. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that is known to bolster happiness within an individual. Aside from this, bananas are also a good source for dopamine which is the “feel good” neurotransmitter.

Some things you may not know about bananas. Technically they are listed as a ‘herb’ and a group of them are called a ‘hand’.

Aside from promoting a good psychological health, bananas are rich in potassium which offers protective abilities to our cardiovascular system. It is also helps the digestive system because it has dietary fiber that promotes good digestion in the body.

To top this all, bananas are delicious even if eaten as is. We were shocked to see that bananas beat out traditional powerhouse foods like kale, blueberries and others.  One medium sized banana a day, can keep your therapist and cardio doctor away!

Raspberries and disease2. Raspberries have several varieties such as gold, black and purple but the most common variety is the red one. The red raspberries have strong antioxidants that can fight against age-related diseases, heart and circulatory problems. In line to this, there are researches that suggest that eating a cup of raspberry per day inhibits abnormal cell division thus preventing cancer which is the abnormal growth of cells.

Other important components of raspberries are quertcetin and gallic acid which are flavonoids that can boost the health of the cardiovascular system thus preventing related diseases. These also help in the prevention of obesity which is one of the probable causes for cardiovascular diseases.

Raspberry also has other vitamins and minerals such as Vitamin C, E and K as well as iron, potassium, manganese and others.

The nickname of raspberry is nature’s wild candy because of how sweet and juicy it is once it is inside the mouth.

3. Oranges are one the most bought citrus fruit across the world because of its scent and juicy nature. Perhaps the color orange got its name because of the fruit, or is it the reverse? Either way, what is known is that oranges are great sources of vitamin C. Vitamin C is known to boost the immune system of human beings which makes this fruit an important forefront against illnesses. Aside from this, oranges have herperidin which is a powerful flavonoid. In recent researches, herperidin has shown potential in lowering cholesterol as well as hypertension.

Oranges are also good source of dietary fiber which aids in good digestion. Its other benefits include lowering the risk of stroke, leukemia and other diseases. This can be attributed to the presence of more than 100 phytochemicals and 50 flavonoids which exhibit anti-inflammatory properties as well as strong antioxidant effects.

Make sure to eat one large orange to maximize the health benefits present in oranges.

kiwi for health4. One kiwi can give an individual greater amount of Vitamin C than a larger sized orange. Although many individuals perceive kiwi as a fruit, it is in fact a berry. To be precise, berries are a specific kind of fruit. The difference lies in the structure of the berry wherein it has a juicy pulp and there are seeds surrounding.

Aside from being a great source of Vitamin C, kiwis are also a good source of vitamin K. Vitamin K is responsible for clotting the blood because without its presence, blood clotting will not occur. Due to this, vitamin K has also been dubbed as the clotting vitamin.

Kiwi also have vitamin E and several compounds of polyphenols thus giving it a high amount of antioxidant. Other vitamins and minerals present are dietary fiber, potassium, magnesium and zinc. The latter mentioned are partly responsible for the health of the skin as well as the hair and nails.

Making sure you eat kiwi or oranges every day is part of a powerful food health plan.

blueberries for heart health5. Blueberries are very tiny but scientists have long known that they pack a powerful healthy punch.

One cup of blueberries or even a small piece of blueberry contains anthocyanin that aids in the protection of vision, lowering blood sugars thus keeping the mind sharp. Also, memory and cognition can be greatly improved through regular intake of blueberries. Blueberries are not only good for the mental and psychological health but also in battling against UTIs. Blueberries also have vitamins C, K and B-complex such as vitamin B6.

There have also been studies that noted on its positive effects towards heart health, reducing the risk of developing malignant cells that result to cancer, aids in good digestion and provides aid in weight loss.

Despite its small-size, blueberries are a power pack of health benefits.

pomegranate healthy heart6. Next on the list are pomegranates. These luscious and delicious fruits have very useful nutritional value. Pomegranates are one of the oldest known fruits. It was originally grown in ancient Persia and it has been viewed as a symbol of health, fertility and eternal life. Modern research reveals the medical gurus of Persia were right as pomegranates are rich in antioxidants. The antioxidant property coupled with the powerful polyphenols of pomegranates can help in reducing the risk of developing cancer. Pomegranates also have a relatively high amount of vitamin C and potassium.

In a recent medical research, patients who had severe artery blockages and drank at least an ounce of pomegranate juice every day, had their blood pressure lower by 12% and a 30% reduction in atherosclerotic plaque.

It can be seen here that one cup of pomegranate seeds and other derived products can aid the human body to become healthier.

grapefruit for health and weight loss7. The nutritional value of a large grapefruit has been a benchmark for the name “super fruit.” Grapefruit which is known by its scientific name as Citrus x paradisi has several nutrients but low in calories. According to the research that has been conducted, grapefruit gives the skin a clear and healthy glow, lowers the risk in developing certain types of medical diseases, and can help in weight loss.

Among the diseases that it can help prevent are cardiovascular diseases and cancer. Grapefruit also aids in a good digestion and gives those who eat it a boost in energy.

Grapefruit was bred during the 18th century and is a cross between pomelo and orange. The reason for the name was influenced by how the fruits grew in clusters just like a grapes. Currently, there are several varieties of the grapefruits color such as white or yellow to pink and red. The taste is also variable depending on the time the grapefruit was harvested.

While things like the ‘grapefruit diet’ and other obvious scams should be avoided, it is clear that grapefruit should be a part of any healthy diet.

tangerine health disease cure8. There are people who are confused as to the difference between a tangerine and an orange. They are both citrus fruits and they look very similar. However the differences between the two lie in their shape, smell, taste and nutritional value.

Tangerines are smaller with a skin that can be peeled off easily and it was said that tangerines were cultivated in China and Japan for the last 3,000 years whereas oranges are the opposite and were cultivated in Southeast Asia before it reached Europe. As for the nutritional value, tangerines have a greater number of antioxidants compared to oranges. Its dietary fiber is composed of soluble and insoluble which greatly helps in weight loss or weight management.

Tangerines also have lutein and zeaxanthin which are important in maintaining eye health because it lowers the risk of developing cataracts and macular degeneration.

Thanks to modern shipping and growing advancements you can eat this amazing fruit year round.

avocado weight loss9. There are individuals who are wary of eating avocado because of the fat present in its meat. Contrary to popular belief, there are healthy fats such as monosaturated fats found in avocados. These fats help keep the body feel full thus it signals the brain to stop the digestive juices in the stomach and making the individual feel satiated. It also helps in slowing the breakdown of carbohydrates thus helps in keeping the glucose levels in the blood within normal range.

Avocados are also sources of vitamins B6, C, E, and K which are important in the daily functioning of the body. It also has riboflavin, niacin, folate, magnesium, potassium and other nutrients that are as equally important as the vitamins.

Although not all individuals agree to the taste of avocados, it can easily be added into your favorite dishes. For instance, instead of using butter or full fat cheese, use one avocado and you reduce the chances of contracting heart disease while getting that satisfying fatty flavor many people enjoy.

tomato eye health cancer prevention10. TOMATOES are probably one of the most common ingredients used because it adds taste to the food being cooked. Aside from being able to satisfy the palate of most people, tomatoes are a nutritional powerhouse because it has several health benefits due to the presence of lycopene. For one, it keeps the health of your skin and more importantly, it helps in the prevention of certain types of cancer such as prostrate, colorectal and stomach cancer.

Tomatoes also have a rich content of Vitamins A and C and when coupled together with beta-carotene, become an essential antioxidant that neutralizes the effects of free radicals. Another important benefit of eating tomatoes is its positive impact on the heart’s health. Since tomatoes are rich in Vitamin B and potassium, these can reduce the cholesterol levels as well as blood pressure thus preventing heart attacks.

The whole list can be found here from TIME’s Top 50 Healthiest Food. It should be noted that not all are vegan foods but 42 of the 50 are!

B12 Deficiency: Shocking Photos Reveal The Symptoms

http://veryveganrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/vitamin-b12-deficiency-symptoms-1024x535.png

Vitamin B12 Deficiency and Vegans

The one question I get asked about more than any other concerns Vitamin B12 deficiency. People want to know if they should get B12 Shot or take a B12 supplement because they are vegan. The truth is that there is a simple way to know exactly what to do. If you are vegan you should get a blood test from your doctor every 3 months to see what your b12 levels look like. Since the body stores vitamin B12 many vegans can go a year or more without any loss in b12 levels. Others have a deficiency right away. The only way to know for sure is to get a blood test.

Sublingual B12 and B12 vitamins

Sublingual B12 and B12 vitamins

If you do find out that you need to supplement for vitamin B12 you may choose B12 vitamins and supplements. These can come as capsules, pills or sublingual forms. There isn’t really much difference in the effectiveness between these options provided you make sure to get a high quality supplement. You will basically see two kinds of B12 supplement; Cyanocobalamin and Methylcobalamin. What is the difference? Cyanocobalamin is basically synthetic and not found in nature anywhere. Methylcobalamin is a form more readily absorbed and used by the body and it’s organs like the liver, brain and nervous system.

Vitamin B12 Injections

b12 injection

flickr: Steven Depolo

Although you can get vitamin B12 injections prescribed and administer them at home, most people choose to get them at their doctors office. To take B12 injections correctly they must be injected into the muscle for proper absorption and this can be somewhat painful and tricky for most people to do on their own. The advantage of getting the injections over taking a supplement is the effects are nearly instant and they last from one to three months. Most vegans I know visit their doctor every three months to get another b12 injection.

Vitamin B12 deficiency symptoms

b12 blood test

flickr: Nurse Paula

The health effects of not getting enough B12 can be serious and should not be taken lightly. While I recommend most people should see their doctor and get tested before taking a supplement, most people don’t. In this instance it is much better to just take the b12 supplement to be on the safe side. Symptoms of B12 deficiency include fatigue, mood swings, depression, anxiety, loss of brain function, memory problems, neuropathy and worse. Most of those symptoms are not visible to the naked eye. But a lack of B12 can cause some devastating symptions that can clearly be seen to the casual observer. These manifest themselves on the face, in the mouth and tongue.

So what are these symptoms and what do they look like? Photos and explanations are on the next page.

Vitamin B12 Deficiency Symptoms

b12 cracks around mouth

One of the most visible and painful symptoms is cracking around the mouth, especially in the corners. There are other things that can also cause this symptom so it’s best to get tested by your doctor if you have this.

One the next page, symptoms involving the tongue

Swollen Tongue

b12 deficiency symptoms

This painful symptom is unsightly and painful but rarely life threatening. But if the tongue were to swell large enough it certainly could be. If you have this condition you should get a blood test with your doctor.

On the next page, the most painful of the symtoms

Canker Sores

b12 canker sores

Almost everyone has had a canker sore at some point in their life. There are many things that can cause them. Vitamin B12 deficiency is one of those things. If you have these sores combined with some of the other symptoms mentioned you should definitely get a blood test and get answers.

Raw Nuts Food Recall - Salmonella

http://veryveganrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/macadamia-nut-recall-1024x535.png

This year has been a busy one for food issues and we have another recall. This time it involves raw macadamia nuts! The first big recall was only a couple of months ago and it involved Amy’s Kitchen products. This was huge since vegans and vegetarians are large consumers of those products. That was followed up by a major Hummus recall which is another product loved by vegans and vegetarians.

Macadamia Nuts Recall

The brand of these nuts is Aurora but the also package and label for other brands like Whole foods and others. The reason for the recall is possible Salmonella contamination. Salmonella is a serious matter. According to the FDA anyone who eats these contaminated nuts could experience a wide range of serious health complications.

Products are being recalled because they have the potential to contain Salmonella which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.

These macadamia nuts are branded by several stores and companies like Whole Foods and others. You must check out the list of brands and product numbers to know if you have some of the recalled products. We have provided that information for you on the next page!

The brand names of these potentially deadly macadamia nuts range from Whole Foods to Palmers Market and others. They all originate from the Aurora company and the recall spreads to over 15 states. According to the CDC no illnesses have been reported to date from these nuts and we want to keep it that way. Here’s how you can help.

1. Check your macadamia nut products on this list

2. Share this article on your Facebook, Twitter and other social media. I haven’t see this shared anywhere yet so word is NOT getting out for some reason.

The FDA says if you discover you do have some of the recalled products you should take the following steps immediately.

Consumers that have the product listed below are urged to not eat it and destroy the product or return it to the point of purchase. Customers with questions can contact Aurora Products, Inc. for further information at (800)-898-1048 between the hours of 9:00AM to 5:00 PM EST Monday – Friday.

Twenty-One Mouth-Watering Veggie Burgers

Veggie Burgers and Vegan Burgers: Not What They Used To Be

Regardless of eating habits, there is definitely an allure towards burgers whether they be veggie burgers or not. People are attracted to the rich taste, the complexity of flavors combined with the simplicity of preparation. I am no exception to this.  The traditional burger is an American experience and you will find it at nearly all holiday gatherings, outdoor events and just plain on dinner table situations. Advancements in the past decade have made vegan burgers and vegetarian burgers so good even meat eaters will enjoy them.

Before I became a vegan, I always felt guilty whenever I ate beef patty burgers. This was because I was eating something that was unhealthy and my way of eating was unethical. When I went vegan I began to take pride in my veggie burgers. I felt that I was eating healthy and at the same time, I am helping the planet in my own little way by making it sustainable.

Vegetarian Burgers are good for the planet

The cost of production of meat is quite great which contributes to a high carbon, water, and human footprint which is the opposite for vegetables. If the aforementioned footprints are high, it means that it is damaging our planet greatly, making our home unsustainable for future generations. And of course there is all of the cruelty involved in eating meat products. When we choose meat-free options we are helping the planet and preventing suffering for many innocent animals.

This list of 21 Mouth-Watering Veggie Burgers will give you a lot of options to consider. It should be noted that that some of the burgers in this list are vegetarian but with a few simple substitutions they can be made vegan.

Simple Hack Removes 99% Of Pesticide From Produce!

http://veryveganrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/remove-pesticide-from-fruit-vegetables-1024x535.png

Pesticides are supposed to be chemicals that kill pests ONLY but it has long lasting effects to the soil, plant and its immediate environment. Prolonged exposure to pests can lead to the slow death of the nutrients found in the soil and at the same time, to the fruits. It doesn’t matter whether the fruit is imported or domestic, there is pesticide present.

Normally water is used to rinse away any of this pesticide residue. To do this, the faucet is turned on and the fruits, vegetables and other produce are placed beneath the running water. However, there are several products that claim that they have better capacity in removing the pesticide residue than water.

Despite the claim, the scientific community and related organizations have disproved these products. They’re cleansing capacity is no different than running water. Compared to buying these products there is a cheaper way to make your own fruit and vegetable wash that removes 99% of the pesticide residue. And it’s completely safe. How safe? You already eat this ingredient every day!

Find out this really simple method on the next page.

According to researches, when a fruit is soaked in tap water may be able to remove around 50% of the pesticide but when soaked with acetic acid or plain white vinegar, as much as 100% of the pesticide. However, there is also something that is much cheaper than vinegar: SALT WATER. With a 10% solution, 9 parts water and 1 part salt, it is as effective as vinegar.

The next time that you have fruits and vegetables, make sure to soak it in saltwater before cooking it. Dr Gregor from Nutrition Facts explains in the video below.

Baking With Coconut Flour

Coconut flour recipes are becoming more and more popular, especially for people with wheat sensitivity. Coconut flour is becoming a very popular alternative to wheat-based flour because it is gluten-free. It is made from the powdered form of coconut as well as coconut solids. These solids are leftovers of the coconut meat when making coconut milk. I like the idea of using coconut flour in recipes for several reasons. Aside from being gluten-free it is also hypoallergenic. This means that anyone can eat these tasty baked treats. It also has some added nutritional benefits that we will discuss below.

Vegan Recipes With Coconut Flour

For vegans that are trying out coconut flour recipes for the first time it is best to be cautious. The ingredient ratio will be slightly different than recipes with traditional flour. When you are cooking with coconut flour there are a few things to keep in mind. Coconut flour readily absorbs more liquid and thus the ratio for substitution varies. However, if you are baking vegan cakes using coconut flour wherein there is already a preset value on the ingredients then there is not much to worry about. This is one of the benefits of starting out with well established vegan coconut flour recipes.

Coconut Flour Nutrition

Coconut flour has a similar consistency to any flour. It is also healthier because it has more fiber than any other type of flour. This is another reason I like coconut flour recipes. I personally like the aroma that coconut flour brings to my recipes as well. The coconut scent is more dominant which something I like. If you are someone who does not like this, then it is better that you chose recipes wherein the flavors have a stronger scent. The options for using coconut flour are endless. You can make delicious coconut flour brownies, pancakes, coconut flour bread and more. You are only limited by your imagination!

On the next page are four amazing coconut flour recipes that anyone can make.

Cure Puffy Eyes Forever In 5 Easy Steps

http://veryveganrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/cure-puffy-eyes-1024x535.png

Have you ever wished there was a way to cure puffy eyes? Do unsightly bags under your eyes make you want to scream? If so then welcome to my world. I have seen amazing changes in my body since going vegan. Those changes include the way I feel and the way I look. I have still have the problem of puffy eyes and couldn’t figure out how to cure it. Face creams and lotions don’t seem to help much. And I can’t even use most of them anyway because they aren’t vegan. I refuse to support animal testing.

I was lucky enough to come across Elena Wilkins a couple of months ago and that changed my life forever. Especially as it relates to the bags under my eyes. Some days it seems like no amount of makeup will cover the dark circles under my eyes. So I was looking for a natural vegan remedy. Under eye surgery isn’t an option. Using puffy eye creams that have been tested on animals isn’t an option. So what does that leave?

The answer is 5 simple tweaks to your diets that do amazing things for dark circles and bags under the eyes. Try them out and you could be free from puffy eyes forever! Check them out on the next page.

Elene Williams from Vega-licious was a lifesaver for me. I found an article she wrote on how to cure puffy eyes forever and it has been amazing for me. According to her article these 5 simple things will reduce or eliminate your puffy eyes forever!

1. Stop eating so much salt. Consume the absolute minimum possible. Don’t add it to anything if you can help it! (A bonus, you will lose weight when you cut out the salt).

2. Drink more water. The more you drink, the more water and salt you will flush from your body.

3. Eat more raw fruits and vegetables. Drink more green smoothies.

4. Sweat out the puffiness. Go to the sauna, do intense workouts, sweat.

5. If you are going to eat cooked foods, eat as little as possible and don’t season them with salt when you are cooking. Put a tiny amount on your food once it’s in your plate. You will get the flavor while drastically cutting back the salt.

If you hadn’t noticed, salt is the key. Try doing the 5 steps as seriously as you can for 7 days. Take before and after pictures. You will probably be amazed at the difference!

Strawberry Vegan Ice Cream Recipes

http://veryveganrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/strawberry-ice-cream-1024x535.png

I had the opportunity to handpick strawberries as a child on my aunts small farm and those are memories I will always cherish. Although the fruit in itself can be eaten as is, I always prefer making it into a jam. Strawberries are part of those fruits that are low in sugar and high in flavor. They are perfect for these  strawberry vegan ice cream recipes.

There are many ways to make vegan ice cream at home. The most popular recipes usually involve bananas because they can assume a variety of flavors depending on what you add to them. I have to tell you that strawberry ice cream is by far my favorite of the vegan ice cream recipes. There is a rich interaction of the flavors when you make vegan strawberry ice cream and this experience isn’t something that you will want to skip out on.

I have assembled 5 amazing vegan ice cream recipes for you ranging from a basic version to a decadent vegan strawberry cheesecake ice cream recipe. You can get them on the next page.

Vegan Strawberry Ice Cream

Fresh, delicious Vegan Strawberry Ice Cream recipe from chef David Lebovitz, author of The Perfect Scoop-guide to making ice cream.

Use very ripe, tasty strawberries for this. Rice milk has a neutral flavor so the strawberries should really do most of the work in this. I don’t strain out the seeds in this ice cream. But you can strain them all out, or just some of them.

On Monday, though, I hesitated finishing off the last of the ice cream – to leave a couple of bites for my mom.
